Day 74: Beauty Tricks That Actually Work

These are beauty tricks that I've came across in my seasoned 26 years that actually do work. I used one of these this morning actually. Here are the What, When and How's of my beauty tricks.

What: Makeup Sponge
When: You didn't put your little black dress on carefully enough and you got a deodorant stain on it!
How: Just wipe the makeup sponge (a clean one, duh) over the stain and watch it disappear!

What: Eyebrow Brush and Hairspray
When: Your flyaways have gotten a little out of control and are standing every which way to Sunday
How: Spray hairspray directly onto eyebrow brush then brush over flyaways (disclaimer: bring both items with you for touchups because by know means does this trick last all day)

What: White Eye Pencil (I recommend Wet n Wild as it is 98 cents!)
When: You want an instant manicure
How: Just take the pencil and sort of "color" under your nails, makes them look cleaner and brighter in a few seconds. Sounds weird but it does work.

What: Leave in Conditioner (I used this Dove stuff)
When: The dry winter air is making your hair go batshit static crazy
How: After normal shampoo and conditioning apply to wet hair. Colorado air has taken its toll on my lucious locks and it was driving me crazy! Read this little tip in a magazine and it actually did work, even in the dead of Colorado winter my hair stayed un-static-ified. (yes that is a word, look it up)
What: Static Guard
When: You just took off that cute hat or beanie, and your hair looks as if you stuck your finger in a light socket.
How: Spray directly onto a brush, then brush your hair as normal. I learned this little trick from my Momma, I used to have some crazy hair when I was little. I just really hate the smell. They need to work on that.

What: Dry Shampoo
When: You notice your hair is a little greasier than normal but you don't have time to shower
How: Spray onto directly onto your roots, then rub in with your fingers.
Verdict: It does work, my hair did look noticeably cleaner, however it was hard to get the powder residue completely out of my brunette hair, if you were a blond I would buy this stuff in a second as it is only $3. If anyone has tried the more expensive versions of this and it actually works, please let me know. I am the queen of the "haven't washed my hair in 3 days look" and extra help in the greasy roots department is always appreciated.

These are a few of my tried and trues, hope they helped some of you!
