Day 66: First Battle with tofu: Outfit 6

By the Numbers:
#5) Silver Flats: Goodwill $7
#19) Blue Shorts: Goodwill $3
#29) Polka Dot Tank: Goodwill $2.50

It was so darn tootin' nice here in Denver today, 70 degrees anyone? That I decided to bust out the shorts, took the chance of blinding everyone within a 4 block radius from my whiter than white legs. I then decided to prance around my backyard taking photos of myself. My neighbor just sort of pretends he doesn't notice but I know he's thinking "What in the WORLD is that girl doing?"

My entire outfit is Thrifted today!! Whoo Hoo, Grand Total of $18 dolla and 50 cent!
I did something new today......I cooked tofu. I order it all the time at restaurants, but to be quite frank here, the thought of cooking it always scared me. Not sure why.

DIY: How to Cook Tofu (to put in Stir Fry)
I went with the "Extra Firm" version because, come on what girl doesn't want extra firm in her life?
Step 1: Drain Tofu
One might think that just draining it in the sink, like so, would do the trick. Oh no not in the world of Tofu it doesn't. Apparently Tofu is just a big absorbing spongelike creature that needs special draining techniques.
Step 2: Place paper towels on top of bottom of Tofu, place cutting board on top of tofu, place 2 or 3 cans of whatevs on top of cutting board, and let drain for 15 minutes. (not kidding the guy in the Youtube video said this was necessary)
Step 3. While waiting for Tofu to dry, WOK IT OUT! WOK IT OUT! WOK IT OUT!
Step 4: After you are done "woking" out, place wok on stove, put some oil in it and let it get hot.
Step 5. Remove Tofu from its vice (poor little Tofu) and dice it up.
Step 6: Place Tofu in pan...like a-so
Step 7: Get all other necessary crap out of fridge/freezer/pantry to make Stir Fry happen: veggies, stir-fry sauce, soy sauce, oooooo edamame, and rice.

Step 8. Mix up sauce packet as instructions say. If you have a cute bowl, like these adorable ones my momma gave me (made from recyclable materials, duh) it makes this part more fun.
Step 9: While everything is cookin', eat as much Edamame as possible.

Step 10: Put over rice and enjoy!

Best part, because you substituted Tofu for something way more fattier, you get to have strawberry shortcake for dessert. Its a fact.
way worth the Tofu.....fo sure....

Day 41: Polka, Polka (Dot)

So I didn't just get a lace skirt. I got a couple other gems too! (well I think they are gems) I'm not sure how I look in polka dots....ok?? (please ignore my sunburned Rudolph nose in this picture and just focus on the neck down)
Blue Polka Dot shirt $1

I also got a pair of shorts. I thought they were adorable. Couldn't pass 'em up.

Oh, and I'd like to share a story entitled "Why I don't wear dress pants in the warehouse anymore"
I had to do a presentation at work yesterday (yes I know such a big girl!) decided to step up my work wardrobe a bit, remember these?

Busted out the new dress pants, all was good, my 5 minute presentation went swimmingly, had a lot of time on my hands so I decided to organize our POS (point of sale....flags, banners, stickers, etc) room. Had to move a lot of stuff up from the warehouse so I used the handy dandy hand cart (aka rapist of my heel). Also I introduced what I am calling my "MJ sparkle flats" (i wore them in the pictures yesterday and in the picture above) to the world. To make a long story short I ended up running the hand cart directly into my heel, blood immediately dispersed at a rather rapid rate. It got all over my new pants and my new "MJ sparkle flats", blood came out of the pants, but sadly, my shoes are stained on the inside for life. I am so graceful.

Ok kiddos, off to start working on my latest DIY project (sidenote: extremely pumped about to share this one with you, I've been wanting this to happen forever!)
