Spring has Sprung

Boat Shoes $5 Goodwill (Target), Pants: $20 Target, Shirt: JCrew (outlet) $30, Belt Goodwill $1, Scarf: Old Navy (gift from mom)

some pretty flowers starting to bloom in the backyard!!!

I love this time of the year in Denver. Riding my bike everyday to work (I get there in 20 minutes f.y.i) this was last friday's "Casual Friday" look...yeah I'm that behind this week. I said I will do better, and with the sun going down a bit later there will be time for outdoor photos!

I've also somehow missed my one year mark. I have been blogging for a year, wowzers! I need to do something drastic....And I've decided after reading a very inspiring blog- (I will find the link and share it with you) that I am not going to shop for 6 months. Yes. There. I said it. I've decided I spend way too much money trying to add to a closet that is already wayyyyyy too full. And I have 2 of them that are soooo full. So I have decided. No. More. Shopping. And one more closet cleanse.

So on this day of March 29th, 2012, I Lindsey Garrett, will not shop for clothes and I am abiding by the "wear it out and use it up" philosophy. I will explain more in the next post. But I will be documenting this journey and letting you know how it turns out! I'm guessing it will be catastrophic!

The only exemption from this rule- if my favorite shopping partner is in Denver, or I am with her in Illinois. And I can buy presents for others (like my adorable baby nephew...geez, y'all I have a nephew! Did I tell you that?!)

Let's see if I can make it. Ready. GO!!!

Day 162: Aztec Print is my Homie

I am a little obssessed this season with a thing called Aztec Print. I have it on everything: sweatshirts, tights, socks, scarves, even my living room rug. I can't get enough really!

I also am obsessed with Nordstrom Rack for giving me this lovely sweatshirt material Aztec print for a measly $11. You are the best!

My bangs aren't driving me crazy just yet, and there's a girl at work that trims them for me..all she asks is a subway sandwich in return. She is the best too!

Boots: Charming Charlie's $10, Jeggings : Macy's $10, White Shirt: Wal Mart $5, Long Sleeved Shirt: F21 $10, Aztec Print Shirt: Nordstrom Rack $11, Necklace: Fossil Gift from Mom

Day 161: Pet Peeve

OK, OK, I know this is a horrible picture...but yes all of that brown stuff is a pile of snow in the KMart parking lot. Mom wanted me to "blog about the snow" but I didn't get home in the daylight, so Mom, this is all you get..for now.
She will be here on Thursday and she will see for herself...24 inches of snow being pushed around Denver. I thought I was going to get my first official snow day from work and I got up all early like a kid in school Friday morning, turned on the news anddddddddddd!!!! Nope. 3,000 other businesses were closed but not mine! Not mine!

We did get sent home 1.5 hours early on Friday afternoon, it was a fun walk home from the light rail let me tell ya! The snow was over my boots and my biggest pet peeve in this world is WET SOCKS! I had to deal with them all damn day at my desk! It was awful!

 What's your pet peeve?

Anyways this is what I wore today. Got this skirt from Nordstrom Rack for $7...I didn't know you could get ANYTHING at Nordstrom Rack for $7. Apparently they were having their "fall clearance-get-this-crap-out-of-here-so-we-can-make-room-for-all-the-spring-shit sale!
I went in for underwear (I only wear Hanky Pankys) I will have to do a separate blog about my love for Hanky Panky underwear. If you've never tried them please do so. You will not regret it, I promise you!

Boots: Macy's $60, Tights: Target $8, Skirt: Nordstrom Rack $7, Shirt: JCrew (Outlet) $30, Scarf: Express: Gift from Momma, Coat: Tulle (hippie shop in Mt Vernon, IL) $60

Oh yeah, Cardigan too: Old Navy $10

What's in the Kmart bags? Keurig K-Cups (Hazelnut Deliciousness) $12, Toothpaste $3, Teddy Grahams $3, Sour Patch Kids (the biggest bag of them ever!) $3, Kettle Corn $3, Minute Rice $3, Slip on Booties (because my house is negative 6 degrees with hard wood floors) $6

And mom, before you comment I meant to have the KMart bags in the back. I went in there for toothpaste and coffee and came out of there with $50 worth of stuff I don't need...you know the drill! I just wanted to give a shout out to KMart for rockin' my socks off yet again!

Daya 160: Thrifty Thursday

It has been, well, a really long time since I've participated in a Thrifty Thursday.

There is the BEST Goodwill fairly close to my house, added bonus its extremely close to the Super Target. I had a nice lil Saturday.

Banana Republic+ JCrew= a great thrifting experience.

The purse is SUPER cute but its a little hard to carry. I think I'm going to DIY and add a cross body chain, or something to it. Its just a bit awkward, but extremely cute. Nonetheless

Shoes: H&M $25, Jeans: Goodwill (Banana Republic) $5, Purse: JCrew $5, Cardigan: Goody's $20, Shirt: Wal Mart $5, Scarf: Goodwill $3, Earrings: Silpada Gift from Momma, Ring: Gift from Joshua

I am loving these colors!

Day 159: My new Army Jacket

I believe this will be debut of my new jacket. Its got a lot of faux fur and a whole lotta cuteness!

Thanks Momma.

Oh and I have a new obsession with over the knee socks. We are gonna be great friends. Still a bit chilly to be baring the legs here in the Coloradee climate. 65 degrees today, not too shabby. Love this lil place called Denver!

Oh, and I am going to a "fitness class" at my work. Its free, and its convenient. Details to follow tomorrow to see if I survive!

Suede Shoes: Payless $29, Over the Knee Socks: Kmart $5, Gray Dress: Goodwill $4, Belt: Goodwill $1, Cardigan: F21 $15, Bad-ass Army Jacket: Gift from my Bad-ass Mom

Day 158: This is for you Aunt Jo

So......I've been more than slacking on the blog the last couple of months, my job takes up about 80% of my time and the weekends are jam packed with snowboarding.

I could insert a couple hundred excuses here, but I just haven't had the time really folks. I am at least going to shoot for 2 postings a week. This is for you Aunt Jo, one of two people that really misses my blog! Ready.......GO!

PINK TIGHTS

I would have never taken myself for a pink tights kinda gal. Pink has always been a color I've shied away from. However, from a recommendation from my roomie, I went to Urban Outfitters and got me some pink tights!

The verdict: very ridiculous comfortable, just not very durable wore a hole in them the first day (due to a snag on my zipper on my boot) I am very sad. I patched them up the best I could. Nobody will notice on a galloping horse, right?

Shoes: $15 Payless, Tights: $10 Urban Outfitters, Dress: Goodwill $4, Sweater: Kmart $15, Lariat Necklace: Goody's $10
1 measly picture. I know not exactly starting things off again with a bang, am I?

Day 157: All American: Free People

There is a weak spot in my heart for Free People.

If I only had a bigger paycheck. This will be the first time on my blog I do not post the price of a piece of clothing. Nope. Not gonna happen. :)

Back in the blog saddle again, as per request of my momma. (my biggest fan)

Oh, and I cut my bangs. That's new.
