Day 95: Is that Patchouli I smell?

the only thing interesting about my outfit...wish I could remember where and when I got these!

No it is not. I hate that smell...but I do feel like whomever handcrafted this bag probably smells of it. It was a gift from my mom. She sent a package for me, I opened it one day before work, read the card, "made me think of you, Love Mom" and big tough Lindsey, cried. Sometimes it sucks being so far away from your family.... I wanted to hug her and tell her how much I loved this bag, that it was perfect, and I will use it all the time. Unfortunately I have two loves in my life: my family and the Rocky Mountains. Probably won't be movin' those mountains anytime soon....guess I'll have to work on the family, but to be quite honest, I'd have better luck with the mountains.

Day 94: I have a new Girl Crush

"Girl Crush": (as defined by Urban Dictionary) feelings of admiration and adoration which a girl has for another girl, without wanting to shag said girl. a nonsexual attraction, usually based on veneration at some level.

Please note the "nonsexual attraction" part, I did play college softball, however, I never went "pro" if you catch my drift.

Sidenote to Kate Winslet: If you are reading this blog (which I know you do everyday with your morning coffee) you will be, and will always be, my number one girl crush. You are classic, painstakingly beautiful, and a mind-blowing actress and  I want you to know that this new Girl Crush is probably just temporary, but nonetheless, I have to admit it!

Minka Kelly

Josh and I watched "The Roommate" a little while ago, which if you have an opportunity to watch paint dry, I would chose that instead.....I was mainly just awestruck by miss Kelly's beauty, and, of course, her use of accessories. Colorful scarves, dangling earrings, vests, and Ray Ban's, oh my! And you all know how I feel about hats, any girl that can pull off this hat is O.K. by me!

We actually made it through the entire film, the plot was semi-believable, everyone has a run-in with a slightly obsessive, crazy, manic depressive, borderline suicidal roommate once in their lives don't they?

The one concept I had a hard time grabbing when Minka meets the  "super sweet, responsible, non-partying, musician, and did I mention gorgeous frat guy" He also didn't try any sexual advances when Minka's character (sorry I totally forgot her name in the movie) was wasted. This doesn't happen, you get one of these qualities in a freshman frat guy, but not the entire package....sorry very unbelievable. I happened to date a frat boy in college, he was a musician. That was it. My roommate in college dated a frat boy too, he was gorgeous. The girl I met in accounting dated a frat guy, he was sweet. They always only have one good quality. Its a rule.

Day 93: Comfort is Key

This would happen to be one of my favorite (and most comfy) outfits I own. The dress is this light, soft, jersey material, and it was a little brisk today so I had to throw on some leggings. And the mixed up bracelets have been part of my summer uniform since high school, what can I say, I like it, and I stick with it!

Josh and I joined his parents on a little Sunday fun, lunch followed by a little arcade and 2x4 Jenga...at a bar downtown, 1up......Josh's parents pretty much dominate at pinball, it was quite impressive.

Day 92: Lil' Pink Shoes

So these shoes haven't made it out of my closet very much, and that is very sad...cuz everytime I look down at them they make me smile. They are some sort of rubber, neon pink, and supposed to look like loafers. I scored them at Payless about 10 years ago for $5, I've kept them but probably only worn them about 3 times, but that my friends, is gonna change.

Josh and I rode our bikes to dinner at Pasquini's on Friday night, good thing, because I think I ate about 4 pounds of bread and pasta...but it was soooooooo gooooooooooood. If you bought 2 entrees you got $2.50 pitchers of beer, it was a no brainer really.

Didn't feel like getting too creative with the outfit today, it is my only day off this week...(beauty of working Promotions in the Summer) so I wanted to keep it very casual. This outfit came directly off a mannequin in Jcrew.

Off for a bike ride and some volleyball, can't believe my day off is almost over :( whoomp whoomp.

I actually have two different shoes on in this picture (i like to take pictures of my outfits then decide if I'll go anywhere but my backyard in them) I like this look. Simple. Classic. And these pants=oh so comfy, if you haven't invested in a pair of Linen pants for the summer, DO IT! You feel like you are wearing pajamas, really light airy pajamas, and no one looks at you like you are a meth addict (to explain my theory: all the people back home that are strung out on Meth wear their pajama pants everywhere)

So the moral of today's post: Do Linen Pants, Don't Do Meth.

Day 88: Tough Day

 So no outfit pictures today. I didn't get out of the office until 6:30 this evening, I was preparing for a big event this weekend. Let's do a bit of Happy Face/Sad Face shall we?

Happy Face:
I left the office late today so traffic only slowed down once, it only took me a measly 20 minutes to get home (versus a good 40-45 normally) :)
I got to eat my favorite Pho restaurant today, Pho Duy. mmmmmmmmmmmm. :)
I found a peanut butter snickers in my fridge. I ate it. :)

My Intern quit today via email :(
My shoes that I was so ridiculously excited about ran out of stock before they could ship them to me. :(
My car insurance was due this month, it took a big chunk out of my shopping budget. As in "big chunk" I mean all of it. :(
I have to work the entire weekend. 12 or 14 hours each day. No fun in the sun for this girl or overtime pay :(
I have movies I want to watch but my roommate is using my DVD player :(

Let's all say a silent goodbye to my shoes, oh the good times we could have had my lovelies. Maybe you'll come back into stock, someday, somehow, and we can finally be together.

I won't be blogging at all this weekend with my work schedule. See you all Monday.

Day 87: Inspiration Monday....on a Tuesday

So I'm slackin' a bit but I still wanna participate in Inspiration Monday! Is that okay, ladies? Megan and Nora over at Two Birds came up with this idea and I think its brilliant! And any excuse to wear my new chambray shirt is fine. by. me.

The lovely Brooklyn Decker, ladies and gentlemen. If I revealed that much leg at work I think the guys working in the warehouse would fall off their forklifts. So I had to tone it down a notch and wear shorts, otherwise I would totally be down with the leg showage!

I absolutely love my new hairdo. So much I think I'm going to go back to Aveda soon and give Mr Ian a big fat kiss on the lips. (or maybe just a card to say thank you) He talked me into a deep conditioning treatment that worked wonders. I haven't washed my hair in almost three days and it still looks so clean and healthy.

Oh yes, the shoes, how could I forget these. I loves them so much, my sister talked me into buying them about 6 years ago, they have been through the ringer, holding up great after a lot of gorilla glue! I think the little bows on them are so adorable. I feel like such a girl when I wear them.

Well unfortunately I have to make a flyer for work so I have to stop blogging....BOOOOOO!

Day 86: Rat Pack

I guess everyone better get used to seeing this dress, as it is my favorite thing to wear in the whole world, as well as these flip flops. Sundress and sandals, my summer uniform. This color is my favorite, think it is teal? Turquoise? Whatever it is, I love it. It also has lace detail on the sides (not sure you can see it) I just feel so girly, comfortable, and cute. Not sure you are allowed to wear a long vest with a sundress, but I did it anyways (mainly just to cover my hideous tan lines on my back, so I didn't scare people)

And well, you gotta wear the fedora on days you're feelin' a little sassy!

I almost forgot! My shoes are coming! My shoes are coming! My shoes are coming! The lovely Kendi from Kendi Everyday had these on her blog, and I've been obsessed with them for months, and finally, they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine! In 10-14 days, I just hope they get here before this weddin' I'm attendin' on the 25th.

Lets all live by my philosophy shall we, "Life is short.... better wear cute shoes"

Day 85: Just Add a Little Flower

We have some beautiful poppies in our backyard don't you agree? The roomies have been slaving away back there, it is coming together rather nicely...we have lights up, which has always been my vision for that backyard!

These photos were actually taken on Friday night. Josh and I had a little date night (his idea) we went to Applebee's (my idea) because they have the best Oreo cookie milkshakes ever (which I can only have 1/3rd of because of my intolerance, Josh refers to me as his "little lacto"

He loves me, even though I'm lactose intolerant....

Its Monday already, yuck, yuck, yuck. I am hopefully getting my bike fixed today so I can ride it about in this beautiful city of Denver!
