Day 138: Just Keep Swimming...

I was walking across the street yesterday and I was about to step over what I thought was a crushed aluminum can, under closer inspection and a flip-over I found it was in the shape of a fish! My friend, who knows how frustrated I am with the job hunt, posted "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.." on my Facebook wall yesterday. I am seeing this as some sort of sign to keep my head up, keep sending the resumes, and just keep swimming. I will find a job, a glorious one!

I am naming him Nemo and putting him on my wall, first thing I see each morning when I wake up. Isn't he cute?

Now to my outfit, its a little boring...to explain the baseball cap, its playoff time people! The Cards have to win tonight to have a chance to continue the series. I wore my jersey last night, and it didn't help (we lost 2-3) so I thought I would try the trusty ball cap. Lets go CARDS!!!

Lets talk about what's goin' on south of my ankles. Yet another score from "Goodwill Hurricane Day" in South Carolina. Granted these shoes are a size too big (they are men's size 9, hey lay off, I have a big foot, okay?) But you really can't pass up a neon pair of converse for $3, can you? I think not! Think of the potential these bad boys have at some future 80's parties!!

Wish me good luck in the job search, and the Cards good luck tonight against the Phillies!

Day 131: I Should be Cut-Off from my Cut-offs!

 

Yes, I realize it is almost fall and is probably time to put away the cut-off shorts, I don't wanna! I don't wanna! I don't wanna! (insert annoying 2 year old stomping feet and rolling around on the ground voice)  

This outfit just screams, "I love 'Merica!" Maybe a tad too matchy-matchy with the boots...but I loves them! I scored them at the Goodwill with my momma when she was in town, and sadly, they only made it out of my closet a few times! Oddly enough I bought the shirt when I was with her as well..she brings out the excellent shopper in me. 

I'm not quite sure whats going on in the sock department here...they are very 70's and don't really go with the vibe of this outfit at all...oh well, rolling with it!

Now on with my predicament....see this...

see that hole between the coffee maker and the microwave? Yep, that's where the toaster used to be. Which I was under the strong impression that it was MY toaster, my roommate has convinced me otherwise, as she has packed up EVERYTHING in the kitchen that is hers  leaving me with an overall feeling of inadequate-ness. I mean, geez when all my stuff is spread out, I don't have a pot to piss in! (well I do have a pot but it was handed down from God knows who and from God knows where in my life)

So, that being said, I am off to the Goodwill to fill the hole! (realistically I just wanted an excuse to go over there as I haven't been all month! I've been such a good-Goodwill avoider!) Is it gross to buy a used toaster? The only thing people should be putting in there is bread, right? I guess you can by a new one for under 10 bucks these days, I just like to re-use when I can! Its the eco-chic-ness in me.

But absolutely, under no circumstances, am I allowed to by anything else....just browsing.....(HA HA HA HA HA HA, I am effin hilarious if I actually think I will put THAT off)

Day 126: Up the Creek

Ladies, I have found the most comfortable bra on the planet. I was a little hesitant to buy these as most "bandeau" bras, I've found, are complete crap, don't help at all in the "hiding the nips" department, and give you the dreaded "uni-boob". This one,my friends, is different.

Overall Review:
Value: At $10.94, I thought the price to be a little steep....then I wore it for a day...totally worth it!
Support: Very Low Impact bra (I made the mistake of wearing one horseback riding, I thought at an A cup I would be fine, not a wise decision, but for everyday wear, and activities like yoga, it is perfect)
Comfort: O.M.G. you'll never want to take it off. The softest bra I've ever worn.
Versatility: I think they claim you can wear it 8 different ways. I've worn it as a bandeau underneath a baggy tank top, stays in place beautifully. I've also worn it like a regular sports bra...does good things that way too.
Summary: Go buy one, you will love it!

Day 123: Where the Heart Is

I will tell you one thing, home is definitely where my heart is. I love these people that have surrounded me in the last couple of days.

They are: my rock, my support system, my homies, my pick-me-uppers, my loves, my sunshine, my all, my family.

Oh, and did I mention we are ridiculously good looking? As you can see I have two very tall, strapping, overly protective older brothers. Made it hard to find a date in high school, there were a lot of scared boys in this little town...well in this little county. I never thought I would ever look back an appreciate that, but I do. Thanks big brudders for keeping those icky boys away!

That lil' honeydew melon is still cookin' but in a few short weeks, that bump will be my lil' nephew. So freakin' excited!!!!

Day 122: Five Finger Discount

If there is one thing in this world I know for certain: I have a bit of a shopping problem. But when an over sized patterned tee that fits perfectly and a lariat necklace cross your path, you don't let them pass you by. Isn't that a golden rule? I'm sure it is printed somewhere, "Convenient Theories For Lindsey", yeah, that exists somewhere! 

I am still sharing the awesome treasures I found at the Goodwill in Charleston. This rather cute backpack only set me back $3. Not too shabby. Still not the leather backpack of my dreams but it will suffice. 

The gladiators, a perfect shade of tan, I snagged out of Momma's closet this morning, sadly I have to give them back before I leave (or do I?) (mu-hoo-hoo-ha-ha...that's my evil shoe stealing villain laugh) She even said, "Don't even think about it!" she knows me so well. Little shoe stealer, I am!

Day 108: Thrifty Thursday: BucketList

So, I went a little crazy today. I completely forgot about this Goodwill that's really close to my office, it is a hidden gem, strategically placed next to a Dairy Queen, so after people spend ridiculous amounts at the Goodwill, they can drown their sorrows in a large ice cream sundae (errrr that's not what I did by any means)

First off, lets start with this lovely striped outdoor bucket (what I'm going to use it for I'm not sure, but I had to have it, still had the price tag on it, it was originally $15, I snagged it for $5) when checking out the cashier asked, "can I just stick all this back in the bucket?" "You certainly may!"

What she carefully placed back in the bucket:

So, I've decided to space out all of my treasures over the next couple of days, wouldn't want you all to get too excited (or insanely jealous) of all my purchases.

This cami was an impulse purchase, I had my trophy bucket, was standing in line, when I glanced over, it was size small and I just took a chance and hoped it would fit, it did, little snug, but nothing I can't handle.

Didn't feel like getting too creative with the outfit today, it is my only day off this week...(beauty of working Promotions in the Summer) so I wanted to keep it very casual. This outfit came directly off a mannequin in Jcrew.

Off for a bike ride and some volleyball, can't believe my day off is almost over :( whoomp whoomp.
